Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that he has received congratulatory messages from five of the presidential candidates who contested the 2016 presidential results.

Though the Electoral Commission is yet to release official results, Mr Akufo-Addo has widely been projected by many media houses as having taken a commanding lead as results from Wednesday's polls filter in.

Indeed, the NPP is claiming that their collation from the pink sheets from over 80 percent of the polling stations puts their candidate in an unassailable lead.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has however disputed their claims saying their own tabulation puts President John Mahama in the lead.

But according to the official Twitter handle of Nana Addo, all of the other contestants, except President Mahama had congratulated him.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom (PPP), Ivor Greenstreet (CPP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (NDP), Dr Edward Mahama (PNC) and independent candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah had congratulated him.

"I've received words of congratulation from Mr Greenstreet, Mrs Rawlings, Dr Nduom, Dr Mahama & Mr Yeboah. I thank them. May God bless Ghana" he tweeted.
