Dr Sekou Nkrumah has declared he will vote for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Wednesday's presidential election.

Dr Nkrumah, last son of Ghana's first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah and his Egyptian wife, Fathia, has had a tumultuous political journey.

Having joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2008 general elections, he was appointed Acting National Coordinator of the National Youth Council (NYC) but was sacked barely after a year in charge for making some critical comments about the then president, John Atta Mills in an interview with Africawatch Magazine.

He came out declare his support for the NDC's rivals, the NPP, in the 2012 elections but sharply criticised Mr Akufo-Addo for being too old for the rigours of the presidency following his defeat to President Mahama and his attempt for a third shot as flagbearer of his party.

Indeed, Dr Nkrumah is on record to have in July described the NPP as unattractive due to the presence of characters like Asin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong.

But with a little over 24 hours to the 2016 polls, he has declared he is sticking with the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo.

In Facebook post, he stated, "I voted for Nana Addo in 2012, I will do same in 2016!"
