Nii Lantey Vanderpuye retains Odododiodoo seat for the NDC

Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and Member of Parliament(MP) at the Odododiodoo constituency in Accra has retained his seat for the National Democratic Congress(NDC).

He polled a total vote of 36,606 to beat his closest contender the New Patriotic Party(NPP) candidate Edward Nii Lantey Bannerman who recorded 26,671 votes.

There was massive tension in the area prior to the elections as both candidates were on each other’s throat causing chaos and mayhem among supporters.

But the elections at the area was however without any form of disturbances and the Minister was re-elected while his opponent conceded defeat.

In the Presidential elections, however, President John Dramani had 37,217 votes while Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP had 26,585 votes confirming the NDC’s strong hold in that constituency.

The Progressive People’s Party had 245 votes, the National Democratic Party(NDP) had 39 votes with the Conventions Peoples Party had 53 votes.
