Minister of Youth and Sports sends goodwill message to Black Stars

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Government and the people of Ghana has sent a goodwill message to the national team, the Black Stars ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda in Tamale on Friday.

In a press release signed by Head of Public Relations at the Ministry, Otor Plahar, the Minister charged the players to win convincingly to win back the support of all Ghanaians while urging all to rally support for the team in this crucial match. 

“The real journey for the 2018 World Cup begins on Friday, and I am very confident the Black Stars very well know what is at stake and would therefore not take any chances. I will caution the Black Stars not to be overconfident since there are no longer minnows in football and must therefore work hard in order to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians on Friday” the Minister stated.

Mr. Vanderpuye urged the technical and management teams of the Black Stars to work hard as they have always done to ensure that team Ghana is prepared physically, mentally and psychologically ahead of the game.
