Some Ghanaian Players Abroad

It was an exciting weekend of football across the globe with Ghanaian players struggling to a mark in their respective clubs abroad.

Daniel Amartey was at the losing side though he assisted in Leicester City’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester United while Jeffrey Schlupp came off the bench for the defending champions.

Jordan Ayew and Albert Adomah were in the tick of affairs for Aston Villa in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United while Christian Atsu warmed the bench for Newcastle.

Baba Rahman was also at the losing side as they were defeated 2-1 by Hoffenheim and the German Bundesliga while Samuel Tetteh also featured for Liefering.

Former Real Madrid player Daniel Opare could not make the Augsburg squad for their 1-0 win over Darmstadt 98.

Yaw Yeboah played 87 minutes for FC Twente as his side were 2-1 winners over Vitesse Arnhem.

In Turkey, Ghanaian defender Samuel Inkoom was not in the Antalyaspor side that drew 0-0 draw with Akhisar Belediyespor on Friday while Jerry Akaminko was also not in the EskiÅŸehirspor team that were held in the two all drawn game with Umarniyespor in the second-tier league.

In France however, Abdul Majeed Warris came off the bench in the second-half to feature for Lorient in their 1-0 victory over Olympique Lyon.

In Italy Kwadwo Asamoah got injured in their 1-0 victory over Palermo while Afriyie Acquah was not part of Torino’s 2-1 win over AS Roma.

Isaac Cofie was unused by Genoa who drew 1-1 with Pescara while Godfred Donsah did not also feature for Bologna with Emmanuel Agyeman Badu also missing out in their 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo. Alfred Duncan also did not play for Sassuolo.

Former Ghana U20 defender Bright Addae was unused by Ascoli in their 2-1 loss at Pisa while Moses Odjer was booked in the 32nd minute though played the full 90 minutes for Salernitana in their 2-0 win over Trapani.

Spanish-born Inaki Williams played for Athletic Bilbao in their 3-1 win over Sevilla while Kevin-Prince Boateng missed out of Las Palmas' 2-2 draw with Real Madrid at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Thomas Partey warmed the bench in Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna in the La Liga on Sunday while Razak Braimah again sat out at Cordoba in their 2-0 win over Gimnàstic.

In Greece, Wakaso Mubarak played 65 minutes for Panathinaikos in their 0-0 draw with Panaitolikos while in Norway, Adam Kwarasey was unused by Rosenborg BK in their 3-1 away win over Molde.

In USA, David Accam played for Chicago Fire in their 4-1 loss at New York City FC while Derek Boateng was absent in the Rayo OKC side that managed a 1-1 draw at Jacksonville.

There were also Ghanaians featuring in the CAF Champions League as Solomon Asante came off the bench to play the last 30 minutes for TP Mazembe who reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup despite drawing 0-0 with Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.

The likes of Yaw Frimpong, Kissi Boateng, Gladson Awako and Daniel Nii Adjei did not feature for Mazembe.
