Its Day Four of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Ghana will face Uganda in their first Group D game scheduled for Port Gentil this afternoon.

Uganda over the years have become a very difficult team to beat and Ghana must ensure a victory against the Cranes.

Ghana managed only a win in their last four meetings since 2009 with two draws and a lost and would be hoping to put the ‘stubborn’ side to bed finally.

The game promises to be very tough as both sides are hoping to begin the competition on a winning note especially for Ghana who have eyes on the ultimate trophy.

Uganda would definitely approach the game in an attempt to once again frustrate the Ghanaians as they did in their last game in Tamale last October.

Cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic has been talking big ahead of the clash and very determined to cause an upset.

He said the team is very confident that they could beat Ghana and would settle for nothing less except the three points.

According to the Serbian, they are aware that they would be facing a tough side but have the character to deal with such opponents.

On the other hand, coach Avram Grant also believes that, with the right mentality and determination, the Black Stars would get a win over the Cranes.

He also believes his beard would give the team some luck going into the game against Uganda and subsequent ones.

With Egypt and Mali to play, the Black Stars must win today’s game and secure the three points which would give them a boost going into the other games.

The Black Stars are however slow starters of competitions but this time, have too much at stake to give away a win over Uganda as the tournament has proven to be very tough especially for the favourites.

Both Algeria and Ivory drew in their first games with teams like Zimbabwe and DR Congo playing some quality football that could frustrate any team.

Moreover, Ghana cannot afford to lose the game as Ghanaians are looking forward to a win to revive their hopes in the Black Stars.

No matter how tough Uganda might be, the Black Stars must ensure that the Cranes fall as they are gradually becoming a thorn in the flesh.
