Tigo, Airtel Ghana now Airtel Tigo

Mobile telecommunications operators – Tigo and Airtel Ghana have finally unveiled a new brand name and logo. This follows a merger deal between both companies and recently approved by the National Telecommunications Authority (NCA).

The disclosure was done at a special ceremony to mark the event. The merged company will now be known as, Airtel Tigo and instantly becomes the second largest telecom operator in Ghana with about 22% of the industry’s market share.

Speaking at the brand unveiling ceremony - CEO of Airtel Tigo, Roshi Motman, also announced new executives of the company.

“He joins us from Airtel Indian, please help me welcome Mufti Shaban as the new Chief Operating Officer, From Airtel Ghana, please help me welcome Kwame Annor who will take care of the human resource in the company. Bright Owusu Bempah will bring the money, let’s welcome him”, she said.

In addition, the Airtel Tigo boss reiterated that the company will use technology to improve the network in its quest to provide high-quality service to its customers across Ghana.
