Ghana and the United Kingdom governments have agreed to deepen trade and also strengthen their relationship.

Both countries have agreed to step up efforts to ensure trade continuity and welcomed efforts to build a strong foundation for deeper trade and relationship for the future.

This was made known at the third meeting of the UK-Ghana Business Council (UK-GBC) held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Jubilee House in Accra.

Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia co-chaired the meeting with Elizabeth Sugg, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development.

The UK-GBC is committed to taking forward a deeper and more strategic bilateral partnership to enhance economic development, job creation, trade, and investment between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

At Friday's meeting, six sectors (Agric-business, extractives, garments/textiles, digitalisation, pharmaceuticals, and financial services) and three themes (infrastructure, domestic revenue mobilization, and ease of doing business) were agreed as priorities.
