2017 Budget Presentation slated for March 3

Recent developments have indicated that preparations are in high-gear for government to present Ghana’s 2017 Budget and Economic Policy to parliament by 3rd March.

The presentation will be the first of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) President Nana Akufo-Addo led administration.

Speaking to members of the press earlier, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta hinted that his ministry in collaboration with President Akufo – Addo’s Economic Management Team is working tirelessly to complete ongoing budget hearings to meet the proposed date for the budget presentation.

He expressed optimism that they will finalise forensic audit of the fiscal accounts to ensure that the budget reflects the true state of the economy as well as the nation’s finances.

He further asserted that the 2017 Budget will introduce policies that will help rationalise public expenditure, strengthen contract management and realign statutory funds for priority projects.
