National Policy Summit to hit 216 district across the country-Minister

Government has hinted of its plans to decentralized the National Policy Summit [NPS] to every district across the country. Deputy minister of information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in an interview with Radio Ghana said there have already been calls that the NPS should not be limited to Accra only.

“Now the feedback is coming is that don’t limit to Accra give us a roadmap and action plan and you will begin to found out that as we move along we are factoring it into the subsequent ones.”

He indicated that there is a plan of holding a town hall meeting in all the district across the country to get feedback on programs been held in the districts.

He added that the NPS will be held at places that have a connection with the topic for discussion.

“Our plan is not to have it all in Accra but to take it to places across the country places that are well connected with various things that we are discussing we also have the concept of town hall meetings, we have programmed to have 216 town hall meetings for this year, one in every district across the country. So that we will have the opportunity to explain into detail programs that are going on at the local level and get back feedback from them.”

The National Policy Summit which commerce on the 15th May is to build partnerships and elicit feedback to government to enhance further policy formulation
