'I was sabotaged but I never gave up' – Yvonne Nelson recounts production journey

Ghanaian actress and film producer Yvonne Nelson has revealed how her journey in movie production began and how it’s going so far.

According to her, people tried to pull her out of the production field by making the work more tedious for her.

Speaking on Adom TV Yvonne disclosed that in one instance, the drives that had the recordings of her first movie were stolen at the editing bench of the movie. She said this broke her heart and dropped her spirit but she never gave up.

She went on to say that being a movie producer is a calling.

She said one needs to be very creative and also be ready for all the criticisms.

Yvonne also added that she was inspired to be a producer because she always liked to be in front and behind the camera all the time, and also some of the roles she played as an actress had an impact on her.

The actress has a series of movies in her name. The Price, Single and Married, Heels and Sneakers, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Sin City, Fix Us, Single Married and Complicated, House of Gold, The Men We Love among others are all movies from her YN production.

Yvonne Nelson celebrated her 10th anniversary in movie production in 2021.

Her current movie -- The Men We Love -- was premiered on February 14, 2022, at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra. Thousands of movie lovers came to watch.
