President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey has revealed that working with his former boss, Madam Catherine Afeku has been very good.

According to Mark, working with Catherine AFeku was very good but he prays that the people in the arts industry will have the tendency of dealing with issues and not be quick in finding fault without facts but rather help the new Minister Barbara Oteng Gyasi to achieve her goals even though he doesn't know her personally.

In January 2017, President Akuffo-Addo nominated Catherine Feku for the position of Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture. As Tourism Minister, she has embarked on several trips to market the country's tourist attractions and potential.

However, Madam Catherine Abelema Afeku, has been removed as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, in a reshuffle by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The reshuffle was announced on Thursday, February 28 in a statement by Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.

It is not surprising to her critics, especially those in the creative arts sector who felt she hadn't lived up to expectation in the two years she had been in the role.

For some, she was all talk and little action while for others, she had been overly concentrated on the tourism sector to the detriment of the culture and creative arts sectors.

Mrs Afeku is leaving at a time when she has been spearheading the 'Year of Return' agenda declared by the President.

Parliament is expected to vet Barbara Oteng Gyasi as the new Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts soon.
