Meanwhile, some 80 Minority MPs in 2017 visited the office of the former President John Dramani Mahama on in a bid to make their intentions known to John Mahama that as a matter of necessity, he must lead the NDC in the next general elections in 2020.

The disclosure was made by Member of Parliament for Builsa Constituency and Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, Clement Apaak.

According to him, though they were unable to personally meet the ex-President, they clearly outlined their intentions to the former Chief-of-Staff, Julius Debrah to be relayed to John Mahama.

" 80 NDC MPs including myself went to the office of the former president, he wasn't present, his Chief of Staff was there, Julius Deborah, and our interest is simple. He's the only person capable of leading the NDC back to victory," Clement Apaak said.
