The Department of Social Welfare in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis is currently searching for  newly born baby girl belonging to a mentally-deranged woman in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis who has been reported stolen.

Okyehene destools Chief of Asamankese

The Chief of Asamankese Traditional Area under the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, Osabarima Adu Darko III, known in private life as Odehye Kwasi Obeng, has been made to vacate the stool.

15-feet-tall Otumfuor statue unveiled in Kumasi

A giant statue in honour of the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II was on Tuesday unveiled in Kumasi.

Erected to mark his 17 years on the golden stool was  financed by DDP, an advertising company and was constrcuted with technical support from Urban roads department of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA).

The about 15-feet-tall statue is stands in the middle of the Airport Roundabout and faces the Manhyia Palace.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II who was  joined by his wife Lady Julia and children to unveil the statue called on all to join hands in developing Asanteman.

City Mayor Kojo Bonsu said the gesture was to show appreciation for Otumfuor’s numerous initiatives towards uplifting the name of the Asante kingdom and Ghana in general, myjoyonline.

 

 

Nurses and Midwife Council buys 42 CCTVs for GH¢500,000

A concerned staff ofthe Nursing and Midwifery Council has petitioned the Ministry of Health to immediately investigate the procurement and installation of some 42 CCTV Cameras at the council's head office at Okponglo in Accra which allegedly cost over GH¢500,000.

13,000 teachers to get paid after being validated

Over 13,000 teachers whose salaries and allowances were not being paid are expected to get the payments this month, the General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), David Ofori Acheampong has disclosed.
