The Brong Ahafo Regional Police have started investigations into the circumstances which led an 18-year-old Junior High School (JHS) student of the 3Bn Garrison School at Liberation Barracks Sunyani, to allegedly hang himself in an uncompleted building at the Asuakwa in the Sunyani municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The body of the deceased Richard Damale was reportedly found by the police in a prostrate position with a rope around the neck on 19th July at about 3:30 pm, after the assemblyman of the Asuakwa Electoral Area, Emanuel Kaba, had reported the incident to the Sunyani Municipal police.

A note found beside the body read, ‘God forgive me my sins and goodbye Juliet. We shall meet again,”  leading to suspicions that Damale hanged himself possibly because of the said Juliet.

According to the regional Police PRO, ASP Christopher Tawiah, they were conducting investigations to find out who that Juliet is and also determine what drove Richard to commit the unthinkable act.

The body has since been deposited at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital for autopsy.
