A 22-year-old final year student of the University of Ghana (UG) has reportedly drowned in a swimming pool on campus on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Dennis Akoto, who celebrated his birthday last Monday, is said to have gone to the poolside in the afternoon to relax when the incident happened.
According to media reports, he was rushed to the University Hospital when his body was found in the pool but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Akoto was  studying  Economics and Information Studies.
His body has since been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
