Another strike action is at hand if the ‘Coalition of Unpaid Teachers’ threat is anything to go by.

Reps for the over 3000 agitating teachers say government has failed to pay their outstanding salaries despite starting work in 2012 and when it gave its word to pay in two tranches, June and July 2016, it dishonoured its pledge making life terrible for the knowledge givers.

“We were promised by Smith Graham that we were going to be paid in two tranches… we would be paid in June and July but up till now, even we have not received our staff ID” Eric Darko Effah, President of the group submitted.

“We are suffering. All of us are in villages teaching… A teacher has to go and weed for a farmer for 15 cedis before he can make ends meet. Why should this happen in a whole country like Ghana” Isaac Amponsah, General Secretary of the group also rendered.
