A police station at Donkorkrom in the Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region has been set on fire after clashes with the law enforcement body.

The locals clashed with police personnel Thursday as they demonstrated over the escape of two police officers who had been arrested with one other person in connection with the robbery of a GCB Bank bullion van at Maame Krobo.

According to reports, about five people have been injured in the chaos and have since been rushed to the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

The suspects escaped while they were being transported to Nkawkaw from the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, Starr News is reporting that one of the escapees Lance Corporal Kusi Abrokwah has been re-arrested at Nkawkaw.
