The Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu has named COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare as new Director General of Operations in yet another reshuffle of the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service.
Dr Dampare replaces COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno who now becomes Director General in charge of Special Duties.
ACP Anthony Aidoo now occupies the position of Director General, ICT, succeeding Dr Dampare.
COP Prosper Ablorh who was the Director General, Special Duties has been appointed Director General Welfare.
According to the IGP, the changes take immediate effect.
The latest changes come a little over a month after another reshuffle saw the transfer of the former Director of Public Affairs, Supt Cephas Arthur, to the East Legon District as commander.
