Host of Metro Tv's Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom Otchere has described the decision by the Electoral Commission (EC) to embark on a rebranding exercise as childish and unnecessary.

The Charlotte Osei led Commission with about seven months to the November 7 general elections has initiated a rebranding process which has seen its logo replaced.

But Mr Adom Otchere thinks the exercise is needless because the EC's mandate of organising elections has got nothing to do with rebranding.

In an interview with Peace FM on Wednesday, he said the EC was already one of the most respected electoral bodies in the world and all Charlotte Osei needs to do is to organise free, fair and credible elections.

Concerns of the Let My Vote Count Alliance and other groups about validation have not been properly resolved and you are thinking of rebranding. Are you Keysoap or Cerelac to be rebranding?, he asked.

He further expressed disappoitment in Charlotte Osei's performace as EC Chairperson saying, I am one of the persons who supported her appointment because I thought she was qualified but she is becoming  a disappointment. Dr Afari-Gyan always brought a new reform that improved upon the previous elections but all Charlotte Osei could think of was rebranding.

The fact that one of her deputies, Amadu Sulley, came out to deny the existence of the new logo when indeed there was a new one clearly shows that EC's house is not in order. She should buck up because this election is no childs play, he added.
