Several bodies have condemned the act and the latest to speak on the issue is the Bomba group.

In a statement released today, they urged the general public to desist from focusing solely on outspoken MP Kennedy Agyapong as a suspect in Ahmed's murder even though his utterances could have triggered this unfortunate incident.

They said "it is equally important to note that all attention should not be given him to allow the masterminds or the abettors of this heinous crime to get away with it".

Below is the full statement

BOMBA GROUP WRITES ON THE MURDER OF AHMED HUSSIEN-SUALE

We the Bomba Group have been observing from afar the drama unfolding around the gruesome murder of Ahmed Suale, the lead member of the Tiger-Eye P1 team in the Anas Number #12 exposé.

In a Democratic dispensation where the constitution provides avenue for Free Press and Right to Live, we expected that a journalists like Ahmed whould have been commended, celebrated nationally and protected for putting his life on the line in the fight against corruption in this country.

So for someone like this to be cold bloodedly murdered for working to expose a plethora of corruption scandals within our football fraternity, impedes our supposed fight against corruption and ridicules our democracy.

We must state that even though it is undoubted that those threat utterances from Kennedy Agyapong who is a lawmaker and expected to know better might have triggered this unfortunate incident, it is equally important to note that all attention should not be given him to allow the masterminds or the abettors of this heinous crime to get away with it. The tentacles of the investigation ought to be widened to cover every single soul close and associated with the murder.

We remain terribly horrified by this inhumane act happening in this 21st century where democratic principles is expected to be on the apex.

We therefore call on the media, respective security agencies and the government to expedite action to bringing the perpetrators of this barbaric act to book and made to face the full rigor of the laws.

Once again, we want to send strong caution to the government and security agencies not to engage in any shoddy work without results just like what we have been witnessing in this country in several investigations upon investigations yet yielded no results; A Case Study of Kwesi Nyantakyi's Bribery & Corruption Scandal.

We want to state it categorically without any fear of contradiction that the murder of Ahmed will not in any way prevent the youths and other well meaning journalists for that matter, in the country from fighting against corruption and exposing wolves in sheep skin who are nation wreckers.

These crimes have become one too many in this country and tax payers money are always wasted in the name of setting up committees to probe into the issues yet we have not seen any single culprit facing the law for their crimes; A Case Study of Confessed Suspects Involved in the Gruesome Murder of J.B Dankwa and Captain Mahama.

Without mincing words, we want to state it crystal clear  that if at the end of the day nothing fruitful comes out of the investigations being conducted over the murder of Ahmed, we may be pushed protect ourselves as citizens and  to seek justice for Ahmed who before his unfortunate demise was a father, a husband, a family relative, a work pal and a friend.

Journalism is not a death race where people would always have to run for their lives to survive. Journalism is not a crime whose penalty must be death.

For God & Country.
