Boy,17, kills 6-yr-old stepsister, sends dad and stepmum into coma

Residents of Hia, a farming community in the Odotobri District near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region are yet to come to terms with the shocking murder of a six-year-old girl by her 17-year-old stepbrother.

school dropout has allegedly killed his six-year-old stepsister and injured his stepmother and father at Hia, a farming community near Obuasi in the Ashanti region.

Media reports have one Abdul Malik, a resident of Hia, saying that the incident happened on Tuesday night when the suspect, Isaac Takyi returned home and started arguing with his father, Agya Abrokwa,67, for neglecting his mother and himself after he got married to another woman  only identified as Dufie.

According to Malik, the argument got heated and in an attempt by the stepmother to calm Takyi down, he got hold of a chair and hit her with it sending her into an unconscious state.

He then turned his attention to his father and stepsister hitting them with the same chair, killing the young girl in the process.

Takyi, popularly known as 'humble lion' is reported to have dropped out of school and joined a galamsey group in the area after claiming that his father had stopped taking care of him.

The injured couple are currently responding to treatment at the Obuasi government hospital after they went into coma while the body of the six-year-old has been deposited at the same hospital awaiting autopsy.

The Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who has gone into hiding
