Buipe accident survivors stabilized

Accident victims of the Buipe stretch of Tamale-Kumasi stretch who are on admission at the Tamales Teaching Hospital (TTH) have been stabilized.

Although most of the victims were brought to the health facility unconscious, the hospital authorities says the medical team have been able to stabilize them.

About forty-five victims were taken to the hospital on the dawn of Sunday April 15,2018 when three vehicles were involved in a fatal accident that killed sixteen on the spot.

Two more persons were pronounced dead on arrival at TTH, bringing the total to eighteen.
The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Misbau Mohammed, told Prime News Ghana that the medical team will continue keeping an eye on the victims to ensure no one looses his or her life.

Sixteen people, including the drivers of vehicles with registration numbers GW-2659-T and GM 5383-12, died on the spot after a head-on collision on Sunday.

According to reports, the accident occurred at about 1:42 am on Sunday on the Yapei-Buipe stretch of the Tamale-Kumasi Highway.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammad Yussif Tanko said the accident was caused by a  Neoplan bus which had 70 passengers on board traveling from Nalerigu to Ejura.
