A man and his wife have been accused of killing their three-month old baby girl at Agbogbloshie in Accra.
Prince Kennedy, 32, and Rita Kporgbe, 40, conspired to kill and bury the baby, Princess Naana Kennedy, a report by the Ghanaian Times said on Wednesday.
The report said a relative (name withheld) of Rita who was living in the same house with the couple noticed that they had been living without the baby for some time and suspected foul play.
After a making enquiries, the relative was hinted by a resident in the area that on February 5, Kennedy went out in evening with the baby wrapped in a piece of cloth and tied with a rope but did not return with the baby.
The police were quickly informed and moved to arrest the couple.
Kennedy and Rita told the police the baby became sick on February 4 and died.
They said she was buried in a bush at Agbogbloshie in Accra.
The police had identified the burial site and were awaiting a motion for the exhumation of the body as at the time of reporting.
