An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital(Ridge) to produce embattled plastic surgeon Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh, aka Obengfo to stand trial.
Dr Obeng-Andoh, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Advanced Body Sculpt Centre, also known as the Obengfo Hospital, was charged with practicing medicine without licence and operating an unlicensed medical facility.
He was given those charges after he had been remanded by the Accra Central District Court for the alleged murder of Ms Stacy Offei Darko, a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan (NEIP).
The medical officer was expected to appear before the Accra Circuit Court last Friday but failed to turn up because he was on admission at the Ridge Hospital.
During the court hearing on Tuesday, June 5, Dr Obeng-Andoh was once again absent.
The court, presided over by Mrs Harriet Jane Akwele Quaye, granted the prosecution’s application and as such demands that the Medical director produces Dr. Obeng-Andoh for trial.
Hearing continues on June 8, 2018.
Dep CEO of NEIP Stacy Offei Darko lost her life at the Obenfo Hospital in Accra on Monday, May 21, 2018.
However, reports say the hospital authorities decided to deposit her body at the morgue four days after her death without informing her family members.
The Director of Obengfo Hospital, Dr. Obeng-Andoh was denied bail by an Accra Magistrate court after he was whisked there from the Police Hospital where he was receiving treatment for an unknown ailment.
Meanwhile, mother of the late Dep CEO of NEIP, Nana Akosua Anima has accused the owner of the Obengfo Hospital, of having a hand in the death of her daughter.
