Deputy EC chairperson Georgina Opoku Amankwah has vehemently denied being the source of a statement circulating on social media, in which she's alleged to have accused EC Chair Charlotte Osei of being a "dangerous" person and one who desperately wanted to massage figures so as to change the outcome of the 2016 election results.

In a statement, Mrs. Amankwah said she's still studying with her lawyers a 28-point reply given by Madam Osei following a petition to the presidency asking for her(Mrs. Osei) impeachment, and will respond appropriately at the right time and through the right channels.

The statement read, “My attention had been drawn to a purported response from me to the widely circulated response from Mrs Charlotte Osei in the ongoing petition against her.
I will like to urge members of the public to disregard the said response from me as I have not issued any such response nor caused anyone to do so on my behalf, I have been studying the contents of Charlotte's allegations with my lawyers and will in due course take the necessary steps to clear my name.”

The Charlotte Osei statement accused Mrs. Amankwah, who is one of her deputies of signing a contract worth GH₵39million or possibly higher without her knowledge and authorization, between the months of July and August 2015.
