A young driver has been convicted to a fine of GH¢1,440 after he was caught with 11 wrappers of wee.
According to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector K. Adu,  the convict hadd the drug in his pockets on April 20, this year at Gbawe-Bulemi in Accra  when he was arrested by the Odorkor Police Patrol Team whilst he was engaged in an argument with a neighbour.
The convict, Richard Nii Armah,in his caution statement, told the police that he smokes wee before the start of the day’s work, C/Insp. Adu stated.
Before an Accra Circuit Court, Armah, who was without a lawyer, admitted the offence and pleaded for leniency so as to undertake genuine work to cater for his daughter.
The judge, Mr. Aboagye Tandoh therefore convicted him on his own plea and ordered him to pay a fine or in default serve six-month jail term.
The court also ordered the destruction of the substance three months after the judgement under the supervision of the registrar of the court, Daily Guide reported.
