The affected customers were in the areas such as Dansoman, Korle-Bu, Achimota and Kaneshie, all in the Greater Accra.

A statement issued by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on Thursday said “the PURC is pleased to informed customers that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has started compensating affected BOT prepayment customers in Achimota, Korle-Bu and Kaneshie who were unable to purchase electricity units from December 3-12 as directed by PURC.

The statement said “the Commission is rigorously monitoring the process to ensure that all customers affected during the period are compensated appropriately.

The statement said “the Commission is, therefore, encouraging consumers who were affected and have not been duly compensated to contact the ECG for their compensation.

It explained that “any affected customer who is not dissatisfied with the ECG’s response should contact the PURC for redress
