The Resident Pastor of the Assemblies of God  Church at Abekuma-Agape is battling an elder of the church and four others at an Accra Magistrate Court over a disputed plot of land.

The elder, Charles Tetteh Akakpo together with Abass Mohammed, Augustina Amartey, John Gyegre and Agbesi Hodzi have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and stealing.

Acording to the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Gregory Yeboah, Pastor Charles Koomson in December 2015 gave Ellder Akakpo GHC37,000 for a plot of land at Agape near Anyaa which Akakpo claimed to own but when Pastor Koomson went to start work on the plot, he was informed that the plot belonged to one Odartey.

He went to see the said Odartey who confirmed ownership of the land but said he was no longer interested in selling since the payment had delayed and refunded GHC22,000.

It was at this juncture that it was discovered Akakpo who collected an initial amount of GH¢37,000, gave GH¢22,000 to Odartey and shared GH¢15,000 amongst Mohammed, Augustina, Gyegre, Hodzi and Ajoa.

Pastor Koomson lodged a compain with the police after all attempts to get Akakpo to refund the remaining amount proved futile, C/Inspector Yeboah told the court presided over by Mr James Kojo Bota.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Adjoa Ye, while Akakpo, Mohammed, Augustina, Gyegre and Hodzi were granted bail in the sum of  GH¢15,000 each with two suretiess each, Daily Graphic reported.
