The evergreen grass on the football pitch at the Koforidua Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region has turned into brown after the 26th National Delegates Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Prior to the NPP Conference, the pitch was greenish but continued walking, sitting, lying and mounting of podiums and canopies on it from Thursday, July 5, to Sunday, July 8, 2018, changed the colour to brown.

Over 6000 delegates and supporters from all the ten regions of the country trooped to the conference ground to elect their national executives to steer the affairs of the ruling party for the next four years.

Most of the delegates who were tired of sitting and standing were seen lying on the grass during and after the voting while others jubilated on the grass since their preferred candidates won the election.

Even though the filth on the pitch has been cleared since Sunday, July 8, an expert told PrimeNewsGhana that, it will take months before the pitch could come to its original status.
