The Eastern and Ashanti Regions are expected to experience heavy rains on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, according to the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.
The GMA said parts of Greater Accra Region will also experience some isolated rains but the magnitude will not be heavy, compare to that of Monday, October 1, 2018.
The Duty Forecaster for GMA at the KIA, Jessi Ashung, who disclosed this to PrimeNewsGhana on Tuesday explained that, “it will rain today in parts of Accra but not heavyâ€.
“Ashanti and Eastern Regions will experience heavy rains but the Grater Accra and its environs should expect slight chances of rainsâ€, he explained.
He said “it will not be like that of yesterdayâ€.
In just about 45-minutes of downpour in parts of Accra, areas such as Adabraka, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Darkuman Junction, Kaneshie First Light, Abeka Junction, and others, got swallowed by floods on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Duty Forecaster Ashung therefore advised residents in these areas to be wary whenever it is raining.
“Watch where you take cover if you are in town and avoid being under electricity transformersâ€, he advised.
He advised that “drivers in the Eastern Region should reduce their speed because there would be cloudy weather conditions todayâ€.
