Fake nurse busted for fraud

A 30-year-old unemployed woman who allegedly posed as a nurse working at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has been arrested by the Odorkor Police for fraud.

The suspect, Hannah Arthur, had told her victims that she could secure them admission into the Korle-Bu Nursing Training School and collected various amounts of money from them after which she bolted but was arrested on September 26 following a report by the complainant who is an interior decorator.

The complainant, according to reports, sometime in September this year, gave GH¢3,600 to the suspect whom she knew as a nurse working at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, in order to get  a nursing training admission for her daughter at Korle-Bu.

But the suspect could not deliver and when all efforts made by the complainant to retrieve her money failed, she reported the maater to the police, leading to Arthur's arrest.

A search conducted in her room at Ablekuma, according to Daily Guide, led to the discovery of five sets of nurses’ uniforms but When police proceeded to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to enquire whether she was working there, they discovered that she was not a nurse.

She later admitted in her caution statement that she was not a nurse and is awaiting prosecution She is yet to be sent to court for prosecution.
