Japan Embassy gives grant worth $240,00 to three Ghanaian communities

The Japan Embassy through the Japan Grant assistance for Grassroot Human Security Projects (GGHSP) has provided grants worth $240,000 to three communities across the country.

The Zabzugu District Hospital in the northern region received an amount of $81,200 towards the construction of a children's ward at the Zabzugu children's hospital.

Bethlehem, in the Kpone Katamanso District in the Greater Accra region also received an amount of $80,00 to be used in the construction of culvert and drains on a feeder road at Kpone, Katamanso while Asafora in the Mfantseman municipality would be assisted with an amount of $77,200 towards the construction of a CHPS compound at Asafora in the central region.

The Japanese grant is aimed at supporting various communities with basic needs in the domain of health, education, agriculture, public welfare, human security, basic infrastructure, capacity building and empowerment.

In his remarks, at the presentation ceremony at the Embassy today, the Ambassador to Ghana, Kaoru Yoshimura said the hard work invested into this venture will go a long way to improve the standard of health care delivery and accessible roads in these respective communities.

"I would like to commend the effort of the initiative for Sustainable Democratic Development, Kpone Katamanso district, the hunger Project-Ghana, and all other development partners and stakeholders for their contribution and dedication" he added.

The Japan Embassy has over the years supported the country in developmental projects especially at the rural communities.
