Daniel Asiedu, the alleged killer of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye-Danquah-Adu, has told a court in Accra that he is still being treated unfairly despite an order to the police to ensure his rights are protected.

According to Daniel Asiedu the treatment he complained about during the last hearing still persists despite the court’s order for him to be allowed to interact with other inmates. Asiedu, whom the police hold as the prime suspect in the killing of the late JB Danquah at his residence at Shiashie, raised concerns about how he has been put in a box like cell.

He also claims he is not allowed to engage with anyone until he is brought to court or requests to use the washroom. Addressing the court, the prosecution denied the allegations but indicated they will continue to investigate the matter and ensure Daniel Asiedu’s human rights are protected.

The court remanded the suspect to BNI custody urging the police to ensure his rights are protected. The case has been adjourned to April 5, 2016.
