Outspoken NPP MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyepong says he is ready to confront Senyo Hosi, Executive Director of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (BDC), over a $1million allegation he claimed the latter was trying to use to influence embattled Managing Director of BOST, Alfred Obeng Boateng, who has come under for the sale of 5 million litres of contaminated fuel to two unlicensed companies.

Mr. Agyepong, who has described the controversy as the inner working of elements of the opposition NDC with NPP collaborators, continues to maintain the innocence of the BOST MD.

Unhappy with the allegation leveled against him, Mr. Hosi gave the MP a week to retract and apologise or will proceed to the court for defamation suit against him. His wishes were not granted and so proceeded with the suit, which involves a GH¢5,000,000 against the MP and two others. In a suit filed in July 4 at the Accra High Court, Mr. Hosi said the allegation has negatively affected his image and reputation and would want the court to appropriately award him with the demands as requested.

Others captured in the suit include the MP’s own Ken City Media Limited and the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Afia Akoto.

The suit said the  2nd defendant, owners of Oman FM and Net 2 TV, helped in circulating the said defamatory comments, while Ms. Akoto took to social media to republish the allegations made against them.

But speaking on Oman Fm’s bi-weekly political talkshow, Boiling Point,on Thursday night, Mr. Agyepong said he is prepared to meet his accuser and the suit against him will not stop him from speaking the truth.

“I dare him to challenge me because there are people around who are witnesses to his bribery overtures,” he said. “ I am prepared for him, he should not provoke me to say things that he will not be happy with, it is important.”

Below is the full complement of the suit:
