NDC Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho has been granted bail by the Police Criminal Investigations Department Thursday March 29, 2018.

The conditions of the bail are currently unknown however, Mr Anyidoho is said to be in the company of his lawyers and some leaders of the party who are having discussions with the CID officers.

Deputy Communication Officer, Kwaku Boahen earlier hinted in a radio interview that Mr. Anyidoho will be released Thursday afternoon and given a rousing welcome by the party supporters, Deputy Communication Officer, Kwaku Boahen has revealed.

"He will be released this afternoon. .. the 48-hour period elapses today and we hope they release him this afternoon...all NDC members in Greater Accra will converge to give him a rousing welcome," he said on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

Former President John Mahama on March 28, 2018, visited the office of the Criminal Investigations Department, CID of the Ghana Police Service in an attempt to negotiate a bail for Koku Anyidoho.

Meanwhile, the police secured a warrant from the Accra High Court to confiscate phones and other electronic devices belonging to Koku Anyidoho, who has been charged with causing fear and alarm, as well as treason felony.

"It is hereby ordered that electronic gadgets including laptops, iphones and ipads believed to be storage of information related to treason in the premises of Koku Anyidoho and his agents are to be seized to aid police investigation on the said Koku Anyidoho," the search warrant by the police read.

Koku Anyidoho was arrested on Tuesday and charged with treason for some comments he made in a radio interview that the President of Ghana will be toppled with a civil coup.
