Human rights lawyer with F-X Law & Associates, Francis Sosu has taken legal action against the leader of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim and the church over the bishop’s beating of two young lovers at the church premises.

A good number of people became enraged upon viewing the video involving the whipping of the young lovers in church without any intervention from congregants.

Apparently Obinim, got incensed when it emerged that the boy Illiasu who he reportedly caters for had impregnated a young lady Gyasiwaa, an apprentice and both parties had sought to abort the baby.

Their punishment therefore resulted in the public disgrace and whipping with belt.

But Francis Xavier Sosu in a Starr FM interview noted “this act is completely unacceptable, it violates the dignity of the children under article 16 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana, it violates their right under the Children’s Act, it violates their right under International Status and even Ghana’s obligation under international laws with the protection of fundamental rights and dignity of citizens.”

“We are asking the court to make a declaration to that effect and also order an injunction to restrain Obinim and anybody who works in the church from any further conduct such as beating, canning, stepping, insulting, inducement of fear, threat of death, invoking of curses and any conduct at all that this man continue to perpetuate against Ghanaians in that church that turns to violates dignity of members and the followers of that church” Mr. Sosu clarified.
