The first batch of recruits registered under the Nation Builder’s Corps (NABCo) will be starting work today, Thursday, November 1, 2018.

The recruits were expected to begin work last month but due to certain issues, it was delayed.

President Nana Akufo-Addo on October 17, 2018, commissioned the passing out ceremony for 100,000 beneficiaries under NABCO modules which include Feed Ghana, Educate Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Heal Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, Digitise Ghana and Governance Ghana.

President Nana Akufo-Addo at the passing out ceremony admonished the recruits not to consider the GHc700 stipend as free money but should work hard to earn it.

“You must bear in mind that government is investing some GH¢3 billion cedis of taxpayers’ money into this programme. Your monthly GH¢700 is not free money and you must earn every pesewa of it which I’m confident you’ll do,” he said.

What is NaBCo

NaBCo is established by Nana Akufo-Addo's government to address economic challenges caused by lack of employment.

It is designed to provide jobs to unemployed graduates.

The new NaBCo graduates will be given jobs in modules dubbed Civic Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Educate Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, Digitise Ghana, Heal Ghana and Feed Ghana.

The enlisted personnel have gone through several weeks of rigorous training and capacity building programmes in their chosen schedules and will be working for three years and will receive a monthly stipend of GH¢700.00.
