A Circuit Court in Accra has remanded into police custody a Nigerian bar attendant for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl at Dome, Accra.

Sunday Nsor charged with defilement pleaded not guilty and is to reappear before the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin Doku on January 2, next year.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant is a trader residing at Dome in Accra with her family including the victim, who is a Junior High School Student.

Chief Inspector said Nsor is a co-tenant of the complainant and victim has been watching television in the room of Nsor because there was no electricity in the victim’s mother’s room.

Prosecution said Nsor took advantage of that and had sexual intercourse with the victim on three occasions in the month of August this year.

According to the prosecution, the victim got pregnant as a result.

The victim, however, lost the pregnancy after the complainant got wind of it.

The prosecution said a report was made to the Police and Nsor was arrested by the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service.
