The Ghana Education Service (GES) has denied reports that 22 students of Wesley Girls Senior High School in Cape Coast were caught engaging in occultism.

According to the GES, the students were rather caught with a book which prescribed a doctrine that was contrary to the Christian principles of the Church.

It came to this conclusion after a meeting with the school’s authorities on Tuesday.

The public relations officer of the GES, Reverend Jonathan Bettey, said several copies of the book, titled, ‘The Ministry of Angels and How to activate them’, were retrieved from the students.

He said the headmistress of the school subsequently warned the students against the use of such materials.

The reports claimed occultists in the school had a special book with various teachings with which they brainwashed and recruited fresh students into their group.

The occultists were said to indoctrinate their colleagues by glorifying masturbation and lesbianism.
