Outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey has asked politicians who attack him for commenting on national issues to stop because their attacks would not stop him.

According to him, if he rejected a $100,000 bribe from some politicians who wanted to prevent him from making negative comments on national issues, then the media attacks could not do anything to him.

Rev. Prof. Martey who has been critical of the Mahama-led government often disagreeing with them on various national issues has in the past week been attacked by members of the NDC after promised that the Presby Church will help Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo build Ghana should he become president after the December 7 polls.

But addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Rt. Rev. Prof. Martey stated that no amount of attacks, can stop him from commenting on national issues.

“Politicians have tried all means to muzzle me, to get me but they can’t, they come with bribes, fat envelopes, $100,000…I want everybody to listen that politicians came to my house with $100, 000 and also with the promises that if you keep quiet we will give you a house at Trasaaco with swimming pool", he revealed, adding that, “We will give you Four Wheel drive [vehicle] but you know what, these people were lucky that I do not have big dogs in my house else I would have released the dogs for them to bite them.”

Prof. Martey “They have tried all means to muzzle me but they couldn’t and I tell you they can’t.”
