NPP petitions court over election results ahead of swearing-in

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has filed a petition at the High Court contesting the Parliamentary election results in Banda, Pru West and Asunafo South constituencies retained by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Brong Ahafo region just days to the swearing-in of the 7th Parliament in the 4th republic.

According to the NPP, some ballot papers were meddled with and also there were irregularities in those constituencies during voting and that some foreign materials were found in ballot boxes.

In an interview with Class FM, the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahen clarified they waited for the elected candidates to be gazetted before initiating the action.

Meanwhile, NDC regional Secretary of the Brong Ahafo,  Mr Dennis Twumasi has said they are ready to battle it out with the NPP in court.
