Some drivers at the Obra spot station at Kwame Nkrumah Interchange went on a rampage after they were asked to leave the station.

Some of the drivers burnt tyres in protest of the action by some persons to sack them from the station for a supposed redevelopment of the place by a private person.

On Wednesday morning, October 10 the developers were at the station to begin work but were met with stiff opposition from the drivers, the Ghana Police Service and the National Fire Service had to intervene to calm the situation.

Speaking to Prime News some of the drivers said they were told the land had been sold to Black Star's General Captain Asamoah Gyan.

Some of the drivers said Asamoah Gyan's elder brother Baffour Gyan was at the station a day before to inform them that they have acquired the land and they need to vacate the place.

The police were at the scene but did not address the media as they tried to find out what exactly the problem was.
