Owusu Bempah denies saying Jesus Christ is not the son of God

The Leader and founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry International (GWPMI), Rev Owusu Bempah has denied media reports that he said Jesus Christ is not the son of God.

According to him, he only sought to give the antecedent of how the name Jesus Christ came about.

The minister of God sparked controversy after he was reported to have said Jesus Christ is not the son of God.

“The son of God is not called Jesus Christ. He is called Yeshua Hamashiach. The name Jesus Christ was given by Constantine gave that name to Yeshua Hamashiach. Yeshua Hamashiach was given birth to by a woman on earth and was crucified by Plato and rose from the grave the third day into the skies with the hope he will return same as prophesied by angels.”

But in reaction to the media reports in a radio interview the prophet maintained that he was only educating the nation that Jesus Christ, the son of God had an original name called Yeshua Hamashiach.

“I never said Jesus Christ is not the son of God. I was only explaining that some years back, the Jews didn’t recognize Jesus because the only name they knew was Yeshua Hamashiach and that was what I was trying to explain to Ghanaians.”

According to him, he was misquoted indicated that Jesus Christ was not an impostor.

He added the name Jesus Christ was given by then Roman Emperor, Constantine to win his followers to his side.

“Constantine named the man Jesus Christ because he didn’t like his name and I know He is the same person. I was only elaborating more on the issue” he noted.
