Prez. Akufo-Addo gives 200 vehicles to Police Service

President Akufo-Addo on Friday, October 26, 2018, handed 200 new vehicles to the Ghana Police Service.


The presentation was done at the Police Headquarters in Accra and this is one of government's move to equip the Police with logistics they need to effectively carry out their duties.

The President after presenting the vehicles urged the Police to develop the spirit of proper maintenance of the cars and use them to serve and protect Ghanaians.

The President also told the gathering that the government had committed resources to procure kits, gears and quantities of other essential equipment, as well as more vehicles for the Police.

President Akufo-Addo in February 2018, indicated that the government was allocating some GH¢ 800million to the Ghana Police Service to ensure improvement in its operations.

The President said that amount will be used to get all the necessary modern policing equipment and gadgets including helicopters and drones to enhance the capacity of the service in dealing with crime in the country.
