The Ghana Police Service has charged the former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Collins Dauda, for abetment of crime.

Police personnel on Tuesday dawn raided the residence of the Asutifi South MP both in the Constituency and Accra to arrest him over his alleged involvement in the ongoing limited registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) in his Constituency.

The officers claim they had order from above but Alhaji Dauda was not home when the incident occurred.

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who revealed the charge to Adom FM which was monitored by PrimeNewsGhana on Wednesday, said after waiting for a long hours at the police headquarters in Accra, the Member of Parliament was charged with abetment of assault.

He accompanied the MP on Tuesday to the Police Headquarters where they stayed for more than three hours before he was charged and later granted bail.
