A police dispatch rider was knocked down by a car on Saturday afternoon after allegedly jumpeing the red light at the Expo 67 Junction in Accra.

Eyewitnesses, according to citifmonline, said the officer, who was moving from the Mamobi Traffic Light area, refused to stop when the traffic lights turned red.

In the process, he crashed with a Pontiac Vibe that was moving towards the main road from the Expo 67 Junction and was hurriedly rushed to the hospital to receive treatment.

The police officer is reported  to have denied jumping the red light explaining that he had already moved before it turned red.
