The beneficiaries last weekend called off a sit-down strike after the Forestry Commission promised to pay their today, October 16, 2018.
According to Albert Oteng, a member of the unpaid beneficiaries of Youth in Afforestation they group will take action again if the monies are not paid by close of the day October 16, 2018
He said, "Sir John promised to pay them today and nothing has hit into my account, the day has not ended yet and we are hoping the monies are paid if not, we will know what to do".
Some workers of the Youth in Afforestation program of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), who are planting trees in selected areas across Ghana had threatened to embark on a full strike if the government and the Forestry Commission refuse to pay their accumulated allowances by the end of this month.
