Hiplife artiste and NPP activist, Kwame A Plus has dared the Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and anyone within the rank and file of the ruling NPP government to proceed to court for all he cares.

Kwame A Plus’ reaction comes on back of a statement from Lawyers of the Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, requesting Kwame A Plus to retract and apologise over an allegation he made against their client to the effect that the government is using GFA President Kwesi Nyankayi’s involvement in alleged corruption, as captured by investigative journalist Anas Aremyaw Anas, to cover up for her in the $178million National Communications Authority (NCA) deal with KelniGVG.

The lawyers, in a statement, said if A Plus fails to retract and apologise, they will be compelled to initiate legal action against him.

Kwame A Plus had alleged that the government is diverting attention from the heat on the Minister who is embroiled in the 'shady' deal.

Garry Nimako, Lawyer for Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, in the statement on Tuesday, 29 May, said: “We as solicitors of Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) write pursuant to her instructions. We are informed that you have published series of defamatory statements on Facebook about our client ostensibly to tarnish her hard-won reputation and to reduce her image in the eyes of right-thinking members of society.

“It is our information that on May 23, 2018 you published on Facebook accusing our client of being corrupt and imputed that Kwasi Nyantakyi is only being sacrificed to cover up the 'stinking GVG Kelni Scandal.’ You further accused our client of being involved in ‘some shady deals at the Communications Ministry and the NCA.’

“We are instructed to notify you that our client has not involved herself in any corrupt or shady deal at the Communications Ministry".

“We are instructed to notify you that our client takes a serious view of your defamatory publication on Facebook and will not hesitate to commence legal action against you if the said publication is not retracted on or before Friday June 1, 2018".

Further, the Lawyers stated, “We are also instructed to notify you to render unqualified apology in the same medium and prominence in the manner that your libelous publication was done. Please be informed that if you fail to retract and apologise to our client on or before Friday June 1, 2018 we shall proceed to court to vindicate our client’s rights without any further recourse to you".

However, in another Facebook post by Kwame A Plus purporting to respond to the statement, he was adamant to the caution from Madam Ursula's Lawyers said he is not afraid of anything and that he can’t be intimidated by anyone in Ghana. "I will never apologize to anyone", he stated.
