Officials of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service arrested a number of their colleague police officials in Accra on Monday for traffic offences.
Among those arrested and looking visibly embarrassed were policemen and other security agents who flagrantly abused the one-way road that enters Adabraka from the railway line overhead bridge on the Graphic Road, a report by GraphicOnline said.
A pick-up carrying four policemen apparently on their way home from work and a saloon car carrying two Ghana Immigration Service officers were arrested alongside other civilians who had committed the same offence and booked for court, the report said.
The police officials who effected the arrest of their colleagues were cheered by members of the public, many of whom had complained about the illegal conduct of some police officials on the road.
